Anyone know what Lynette wanted done to the Gecko power plant?

I shut off the main coolant valve. And she was so pissed that I was banned from VC.

yeah she doesnt want you to blow the place up. she wants them to stop polluting ground water. if you talk to the old fart in the conference room you see he is more understanding. then goto gecko, go to the reacter ruins and talk to some ghoul about plans for optimising the gecko plant. take the economic data back to the old fart and he'll give you a requisition form for a magna-wotsit which you get from the aquisitions office. then you take that to gecko, go into the power planet. find out the correct sequence for repairing the reacter.

it's 2 am here so i appologise for the vague nature of this explanation. if you want more detail find a fallout 2 walkthrough.

I know how to repair the reactor, just wondered if there was another way, other than causing a melt down.

Kinda stupid if you optimize the plant you get bad ending for Gecko, ah well, they're only a bunch of ghouls.

if you DONT optimize the plant they get annihilated by VC. if you blow up the planet gecko no longer exists. if you optimize the plant the ghouls are better off.

Lynette actually wants you to kill everyone in gecko and do nothing about the plant (at least it's what i heard)

Um, no, you fool. Without oiptimizing the plant, you get the "uneasy truce". Optimize it and they turn the ghouls into slavery (unless that's what you call "better off"...)

Yeah the ending where VC and Gecko form an uneasy truce seems to be the best ending, not sure. Repairing and optimising the plant seems to be the logical way if you play a good char, but it actually triggers a bad ending(slavery).

...

Dunno, VC treats its slaves well so why not..

can't have everything i suppose. good ending though isnt it. regardless of what actions you take, good or bad, the consequences of those actions may not be your original intention.

you may intend to do good but in the end you do bad. or more accurately something bad happens because of other people.

IIRC, if you blow up the plant, VC gets irradiated even more. Evil intentions, good ending.

wait, what happens if you optimize the plant, and then kill everybody in VC. That would prevent the ppl in Gecko from becoming slaves.

I think the "ghosts" from the dead VCrs still take the ghouls as slaves (kinda of a bug).

Yeah, I did that, but left the servants alone, as much as I could. My NPC's kept killing them. But the ghouls still became slaves.

Maybe I will try killing everyone.

Also, if you kill Val, Vic turns on you, even though he was the first one to shoot her.

Regardless of wether you kill VC, if you optimize the plant, Gecko'll turn into slavery.

who'd want ghouls as slaves anyway. they'd be carrying something heavy and their arms would fall off.

I got the ending which prevented Vault City's expansion and got absorbed by the NCR. Still, they took over Gecko, weird. Isn't very logical.
