In a brief reprieve from Fallout 3 rumors, we've learned that S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl has finally hit the Beta phase. The company is apparently shipping out beta code to reviewers as of yesterday.

It's set for march 2070. They messed up the last two digits. They are actually, regardless of you naysayers, years ahead of schedule and we may see a release as soon as 2067.

The MP beta is pretty sweet actually. Its only in DX8 but still looks good. The anomalies are cool, theres one that shoots lightning at you, one that blows you up for some reason, and one that creates a vortex which blows your body into a shitload of parts.

Some people at THQ are claiming this is the "wrong" mpbeta and another will be released later on. It's just an excuse for the extreme amount of bugs and overall lameness. Heh, it's like every single step of STALKER's development failed in the worst way possible. I can't believe it's gonna be in stores next month.
