Fallout still being played

Post by Urizen »

<strong>[ Game -> Article ]</strong> - More info on <a href="#Fallout series">Game: Fallout series</a>

<em>Vasikka</em> has drawn our attention to a post made by <em>l84wrk </em>about <a href="http://freelimewire.info" target="_self">freelimeware.info</a>'s list of <a href="http://freelimewire.info/2007/what-was- ... -for-2006/" target="_self">top ten torrents of 2006,</a> where Fallout and Fallout 2 came in top of the list.

<em>Fallout 2 is a critically-acclaimed computer role-playing game published by Interplay in 1998. It was downloaded a whopping 1,165,564,987 time(s)! That is correct a game was the most popular torrent for 2006. It was downloaded more than 1 billion times! The bandwidth it consumed was a staggering 1,468,611,883 GB!</em>

Thanks for the tip, <em>l84wrk</em>.

Note that the validity of this is under heavy scrutiny.

1. How the hell do you measure all torrents everywhere over an entire year?
2. How the hell does the top torrent have a 100 times as many downloads as the next one?

That's fucking ridiculous.

Well, at least this is a warning to Bethesda to not try and deviate too much from the old formula....because it still works today.

If 3rd person, top down view and turn based combat are passe, then why is this game being played so damn much?

Finally, the dumb kids are learning to play the good shit. Not all of that is good, though.

"What's your idea of the next boss in the Fallout series?"

"deathclawns and aliens lol"

"FO2 > FO hahaha"

I think Herve is holdling someones family hostage to fudge the numbers, fool investors & sell his awesome MMORPG idea.

I can't really believe that fallout would make a list like that, its just way too far fetched.

If that were true then there would be torrents all over with massive amounts of seeds and leeches, but after looking there's not a whole lot.

Maybe Fallout is huge in China.

Numbers aside, I believe Fallout could be a popular torrent; It's a classic game often mentioned in game mags, compatible with XP, nearly impossible to find on shelves and doesn't take too much HD space.

In any case, I'd rather see people playing Fallout than Oblivion to increase the awareness of what Bethesda is doing to the series.

That sounds like the tagline of a Stallone movie.

how does real life Fallout (say Iraq) compare to Fallout? Does it have soil erosion?

People tend to ignore the graphics, and look for the items that affect your HP.

As far as teh graphis ....... my sig was a screencap from FO:Iraq, my PC is the gunner int he middle.
