What about Tang? With Condie and Wesley around, I'm shocked that it hasn't been brought up yet? Sheesh, to imagine that I, the non-Tang addict, have to bring this up...

Agree with Bill Hicks, as long as it doesn't endanger anyone else.

Me, just caffeine. Plain old caffeine. Could make a case about anime addiction, but let's not go there.

Its about this guy who's a psychologist, and this crazy guy comes into his surgery thing and tells him he needs to take this pill to go back to reality.

good story.

What about that movie, can't remember the name (I know that I should). About a man who doesn't quite survive a nuclear war. As he lays among the rubble, dieing of radiation exposure, he creates his own reality.

He has complete control, even if he doesn't know it (he doesn't realize he created this world). He goes to a doctor, who learns to harness the control. The doctor goes on to fix all the worlds problems, but in a single-minded way. For example, solves overpopulation (a plague kills 90% of the population).

In the end, the doctor takes complete control of the poor man. The doctor sees the reality, he is just a figment of imagination in the mind of a dying man, on a shattered world.

Great movie, playing with the definition of reality long before the Matrix.

Sorry that I can't provide the title, it's just one of those things. If no-one else provides it, I can most likely nail it down before the end of the night.

The only problem is the sheer age of the movie. The special effects are laughable in some areas. It also ventures into the very strange, when aliens land, become friends of the protagonist, and so forth. If you can adjust yourself to it, it has a good story.

Kotario: I believe the title of the movie and book is called "The Lathe of Heaven" The book was written by Ursula K. Le Guin. (Yes I had to look the author up on the net but I have the book in my downstairs collection.)

I haven't seen the movie in years but I heard some fans or something were trying to get it rereleased. It really is a good movie/book that makes a lot of points about man and power.

Just dug this up if anyone wants to read alot more about the movie, which PBS got the rights to rebroadcast in 2000, but I haven't seen it there. http://www.space.com/sciencefiction/tv/ ... 00527.html

I had remembered that it was a book by Ursula K. Le Guin, and was going to post the fact... see if it jogged any memories. Though, you beat me to it my friend. Though I don't own the book, I am a fan of Ursula K. Le Guin.
