These are French Canadians.

Dinner Salads. Just take leftover bits of meat , cut up into little strips, and marinate overnight. Mix it with whatever salad ingredients you have, maybe take any stale-ish bread that's lying around and turn it into garlic croutons. The whole meal in one bowl.
Fruit salad for dessert. Sliced strawberries and bananas, apple chunks, pear halves in syrup, throw in a few grapes. Peaches and/or pineapple if you like.
Maybe use orange juice and yogurt as "dressing" for it.

mmmmm :chew:

Pooper has it right though, US food is just whatever we copy from elsewhere, or fast food.

Well, corn on the cob and turkey.
Potatos? From New World but the Irish claimed it. (Then either Belgians or French turned them into fries. The Nobel Prize for food goes to that little invention. If there was a food prize.)

Example: You can get pizza's with eggs broken over them

Example 2: Escargot, despite coming from a snail, is excellent.

Example 3: Rose Ice Cream

Example 4: French sandwhichs are a hundred times better then those things you get at subway.

Also, Flan.
You sir, are an idiot.
Uhh. Where does he state a falsehood?

Fried eggs on a pizza? Call me old fashioned, but I'd rather eat my own shit. Also, while I'm sure French sandwiches are a hundred times better than those things you get at Subway, I'm going to share a secret with all of you non-Americans: Subway sucks.

Actually, the whole egg-pizza thing is pretty delicious. Have you tried it mang? :dribble:

And subway is pretty poor, yes. Quizno's ftw. But for the price of like one Quizno's, you can get something like thirty French sandwiches of about the same size.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

laffo! So don't go to Quiznos if you want a good, inexpensive sandwich, go to a nice local deli. They must exist in Canada! I happen to live in the Philadelphia area, so all of the world's greatest cheesesteak eateries are within arm's reach, and are very affordable.

I think I will withdraw from this scholarly debate - I forgot that those who don't live in America have infinitely higher levels of knowledge about American cuisine than Americans do.

As much as Americans knows everything about the rest of the world; without actually going out. Going to Olive Garden doesn't make somebody a italian cuisine connaisseur.

What is american cuisine supposed to be anyway?

Hell yes.

By the way creme brulee is remarkably similar to Flan, possibly the best food in the world. Its a bit like a caramel custard, and its exspecialy good with a little orane to curdle it.

Another amazing thing is a hot roast beef sandwhich. Basically pieces of bread with roast beef, gravy and mash potatoes on top. They are usually best found in midwest diners. Similarily, I had a Gobler on Martha's Vineyard: an sandwhich filled with turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce and stuffing. Score.

Also, coming back from dinner, a bacon cheeseburger dipped in a mixture of hot sauce, teryaki, onions, sesame seeds and BBQ sauce is quite nice.
