Lionheart screens

Post by Saint_Proverbius »

<strong>[ -> N/A]</strong>

I just spotted over at <a href="http://ve3d.com/">VoodooExtreme.com</a> that <a href="http://tothegame.com">ToTheGame</a> has some new <A href="http://www.tothegame.com/screenshot.asp ... enshots</a> of <a href="http://lionheart.blackisle.com/">Lionheart</a>. There's a few nice ones showing off some spell effects, some dialogue, and various locations. Oddly enough, they still haven't replaced the Exocet font yet.<br><br><div align="center"><a href="http://www.tothegame.com/screenshot.asp?id=242"><img src="http://duckandcover.net/lionheart/screens/lh_tb_01.jpg" width="145" height="109"> <img src="http://duckandcover.net/lionheart/screens/lh_tb_02.jpg" width="145" height="109"></a></div><br><br>Wow, either this is at night, or this game is <b>dark</b>!

All lionheart has to do with Fallout is that it´s under development by the same studio. News of it don´t belong here!!!! Make this a damn lionheart site if you so much feel like posting news on it..

And that it uses the SPECIAL system Fallout used, which most likely means that if Reflexive's combat implimentation works well, you'll see it in Fallout 3. That is, if there ever is a Fallout 3.

Oh, and Fallout was developed by the nice people who left Interplay before Black Isle was founded, and they went to form Troika. Black Isle isn't developing Lionheart, Reflexive is. Black Isle is just the publisher. Try and keep up, here.

I noticed the possibility of that, too, much like the gear-up for Torn to be rehacked into "Fallout 3" after it was released. The Inbred Engine fan-boys have made their presence quite known to BIS and have perpetuated the "real-time is a sure seller" myth.

Sure, make all the excuses you want. Still, it´s a stupid magic ET sword RPG like Baldur´s Gate. DaC should change it´s theme if they continue to cover crap-games like this.

Tell you what, you see any Fallout news out there, feel free to email it to news@duckandcover.net because I'd love to post it.

Or, in case you haven't noticed, there's really not much out there other than the obligatory, "We'd like to make Fallout 3" answers to interviews that BIS employees have stated for the passed four years without much coming to pass on it.

However, wether you like it or not, just about anything BIS does from here on out that uses the SPECIAL system is likely to have an impact on Fallout 3 which includes Lionheart.

Furthermore, I seriously doubt Lionheart will be another fantasy game like Baldur's Gate. For one thing, it's not Tolkenesque. There are no elves, dwarves, and your atypical fantasy motiffs. At least it's not the same "high fantasy" cliche we've seen for years. Alternative history, with magic, sounds a lot better to me than straight up LOTR or D&D.

If you want to complain about Lionheart having melee weapons, a la swords, well so did Fallout. The Ripper, in a nut shell, is a fusion powered sword in case you missed that. In fact, because Lionheart has melee in real time, it's particularly interesting to see how it's balanced with magic and ranged fighting, just in case BIS bows down to the Mighty Marketting Marvel and makes FO3 real time.

First of all there are tons of similarities between Fallout Series and Lionheart ..

1. The SPECIAL system and use of the same way characters are made and evolve

2. A cataclystic event and an alternate future to unknown reality ...

therefore it isn't postnuclear but it is post(bigshithappened) so it belongs (in my opinion here)

+ the editor will allow for moding and if i read correctly it uses jpeg files so it will be a breeze

Yep. Now, I know the Fallout news are real rare. So, if you feel like it, make the site a one dedicated to Lionheart. I mean, if you post all new screenshots, it´s a bit more than mentioning that this game is produced mostly by the same guys who made Fallout, which is what most sites do when it comes to a close game. The situation of Fallout is more than crappy and you´ve the fan fiction and all to try keep it alive. I wish the same that happened with Jagged Alliance -serioes would happen with Fallout. But, if you feel like letting go of it, then do it. Create a layout with magical potions that bathe in mystical blue glow, and a sword laying on red silk. Hey, why not drop in some gold legged candles while you´re at it.

I'd just like to say, keep up the reporting, Prov. The perspective is a lot more interesting than that of a fan site.

Well, perharps there should be a section for lionheart at the top, but there's no point in dedicating a site to it.

No!...... turn the front page into a non specific fantasy BABE_WATCH!!!!!!!!

Fashion babes are as alien to the average human as does are to cows, and me and my moron pals won't be lookin' at pointy ears.

The rubes will think, if they have that feature turned on-this day, that it's
another sword and sorcery soft porn 'fest.

Then we kin sell'em............ THE FALLOUT!!!!!

Need to hook'em were they (the enemy iz us?) think, or scratch.......
