Update: Fallout 3 leaves pre-production - not really

Post by Mr. Teatime »

[ Game -> Update ] - More info on Game: Fallout 3

I've been told that this month's PC Gamer had a mini-interview with Bethesda and was told that Fallout 3 has been 2 months in development as of E3 2006. I don't have a transcript of this yet, so if anyone feels like going down to the store and finding this, be my guest.

Update: Thanks to Briosafreak for pointing out a scan of (what probably is) this article at NMA. Seems the text isn't as clear as the guy who told me made out.

I guess that'd be PC Gamer UK or PC Zone then, or possibly Edge, as they're the only magazines that count. But I haven't bought a PC magazine in over a year... meh.

You may want to correct a bit, Teatime. The article doesn't mention it leaving pre-production, and there's no reason to believe it's out of pre-production just because "development began in earnest".

Of course in all honesty we know a lot more BethSofters are working on it now and it probably IS out of pre-production, but no official word on it.

Waiting for real news...

What are the requirements for Oblivion? DAC will not be able to run Fallout 3, that is for sure.

Edit: Except for Frater Perdurabo, I guess.
There are no 'knowns'. There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.

I've got an AMD Athlon XP 2800+ and a 128mb Radeon 9800 SE with a gig of ram. It's far from top of the line but I could run Oblivion just fine, so don't worry too much. For the two days it was on my computer it ran well with graphics settings down to medium.

Hehe, I run Oblivion on almost max graphics (well for that half an hour that I ran it for).

I don't get how this is new news. It's only logical to assume that after completing the last game on their menu they move to the next. Oblivion, check. Fallout, ready set go.

And yes. Bad mods.
off topic? OMG YOU'VE BEEN CENSORED... yet you're still posting. MYSTARY!!!!

I'll upgrade according to how terrible the game looks. If it looks decent, which I doubt, I might upgrade. Otherwise, I'll just wait.

I'm not upgrading for anyone! It's all just a conspiracy to get more of my money. There is no way in hell I'm buying a 360!

So, what's this Fallout 3 you're on about? Is it a mod for Ultima IX?
