How do i get to Westin/saltbeef in the NCR??

i need to kill westin (accident?) and/or talk to saltbeef. or get a job there.
but the gaurd at the gate just gives me the option to "chat with mr.westin" and then he gets all pissy and tells me to leave.

how do i get past him in a nonviolent way?

You won't get many answers, I do admit, but it is soooo fun to kill those who give me trouble, and just about everyone else I see. (Just keep it isolated in the game. I can just see the headlines...) You might feel the same.

ive tried that before, and repairing the field emmiter on the forcefield doesnt work.

Ask the Sheriff about any job offers and you will find that Westin is offering a job. Then ask the guard to see Westin about the job and you can get in. The Sheriff is by Dupo's(not sure if thats his name, so the gun shop/store) on the SE corner and has a gauss rifle.

Hey, did anyone ever get that map of Saltbeef's? I went to the doctor and he said that all he got from him was a Fuzzy Elvis painting. Figured that the map was on the back. But couldn't fork over the 10000 buks he wanted for it.

there!! i never knew where that bastard sherif was!
i could only find his deputy, i always thought the sherif was just another gaurd. i got it. and i killed him! (poison, lol)

Yeah, I got the painting, and it's a "seperate" object then the other items... It's got the legit v13 location.

Yeah there is, have to ask it from Merk, the guy giving you the mission to get the paper from the doctor. I don't recall the prereqisits to it all however.
