It's just a bad luck encounter. If you pick the dog up and let him tag along, you'll get critical failures all the time. Pretty annoying.

Actually, meeting him has nothing to do with luck.

I've spend over 2-3 hours looking for him with 2 (and 4) luck to no avail. I'd only encounter "good" encounters (bridge, portal, and most commonly the Cafe of Broken dreams). When I posted this someone posted he got the parraiah dog with 8luck. So it's just not related.

I know, we discussed this over on the BIS boards once, and i've gotten the Pariah dog with 8 luck before. I should have said an encounter that gives you bad luck, that's what i meant.

I had 3 luck when I got him.

He gives you bad luck, knocks it down to 1 and gives you the jinxed perk. I wouldnt mind the bad luck and the jinxed if he actually fought as he has a rediculous amount of HP but he just runs off.
Took me ages to kill especially as I punched him to death as I didnt want to waste ammo on him.

I've never tried it, but I have read that you can lure him into the organ extraction room in the Sierra Army Depot, lock him in, and yank his brain.

Course you can, however 2 warnings. First, every time you do this, you lose 100 karma. Second, the parraih dog has something along 45% damage resistance, so when you take him to the place to have him killed, instead of getting 1000 damage and dying, he only gets 650. And a brain. Do it again and get another brain! yey! course that 200 karma loss is rather big. You can heal him (wait for him to heal) and get as many brains as you want...

That reminds me... If Karma measures rep, how do you lose or gain it if there are no living witnesses besides yourself?

How low could you drop your Karma with this procedure? Imagine having a reputation so bad that even slavers think you suck.

As many brains as I want? Imagine this as an exploit if something/someone in the game ate brains and gave you stuff in return.

And what can we do to the brain?

Karma = the meter of your acts and deeds, noble or evil.

Reputation = the meter of how others think about you.

I'll admit i've not played Fallout 2.

Is this dog biological or a robot?
I think that a robot brain would be good for something, like that one Skynet NPC. Of course, i'm probably wrong.

It's a "normal" dog, like any other dog in the game. There's no robotish about it.

What is good about a normal dog's brain?
Can you chop it up and sell it as an iguana stick?

Well, if you extracted the chimpanzee or abnormal brain from the brain storage, you can use that brain instead of better caliber to bring SkyNet forth...

No that was either a computer malfunction that destroyed the brain, or it was the robot that retrieved the brain that explodes.
