Carib, you need to live in a state, county, and city that allows civilian ownership of automatic weapons, you need to have squeaky clean record, and you have to be buddies with a sheriff or district attorney to endorse you on your ATF paperwork. $200 dollars and a few months later, you should be able to buy a gun.

ATF doesn't accept any applications at this point due to them being in deep shit because of corruption and general ineptness.

What do you mean they're not taking applications right now? They HAVE to, it would be against the law to refuse them. Furthermore I know of several people going through the process of getting approval for silencers, SBR/SBS and full autos.

Yes they're inept, yes they're corrupt, yes thier entire purpose is to squish Constitutionally protected rights, but I doubt they're that far gone, yet.

Update on my AR: the lower has been sent off to a subsidary of Colt, turns out the lower was incorrectly milled, the inside is .055" too short so the hammer rubs, preventing me from properly installing it. It ought to be back either later this week or by middle of next week.

This is the completed upper though:
Image
The shotgun in back is obviously not mine because it's got like a twelve inch barrel, making it a SBS, which are a no-no here in Washington. Instead it belongs to my friend in Kentucky who bought two lowers from the same guy I did. He plans to turn one into a XM177.

I've read that on some gun blogs, nobody made a huge deal out of it, so I assumed that it was true and expected. From what I understand, their reason was purely bureaucratic.

Well the reason for the long wait is mostly bureaucratic, and The Man's hatred of following his own rules. What you heard was likely some over reactive asshole, he, or someone he knew, got denied approval, likely because he lives somewhere with assholes who don't like the naughty fun things. Just because the State says it's okay doesn't mean that the chief of police or whatever will sign off on it.

Ignorance of gun laws is incredibly prevalent. Several months ago I was talking to someone about guns and mentioned my AK, he asked if it was full auto, of course not I said. He told me he was going to get a full auto AK because the ban was over. Some people simply cannot wrap their brains around the fact that "assault rifle" does not mean "machine gun." That's a whole other ballgame right there.

Okay, well I have no felonies and well I suppose I can mull that over in Georgia state after I finish Basic Training and my AIT.

Another subject, in your opinion and experience what are the cleanest brands of ammunition.

Some mentioned Wolf 7.62x39mm is very clean...

Now for
.44 Magnum
.45 ACP
9mm Parabelum
10mm Auto
.12ga 2¾
.223 NATO
.308 NATO

If someone can guide me with their ammunition wisdom, I'd be greatful.

I prefer the 8mm C-14 Impaler Gauss Rifle myself. I recently purchased one on ebay.

What a .38 Special does to a Honeydew. Admittedly I was a little bored so I did a little special effects test with my DV cam and Premiere. Very Sin City.

That's actually kind of disturbing. Should have drawn like a Hitler smiley face on it or something.

I prefer the Filled Pop Can Method:

That was a .223 from some sort of M4gery. It was a real sweet gun though, made me really want one for myself.

I figured that the plain honeydew would be nondescript enough not to be considered any kind of effigy. Ah well. Anyways here is the aftermath.

This is my CZ52, it's hard to shoot with one hand and hold a camera in the other. It does push quite a bit.

It's got a pretty impressive fireball for such a small package.

Kind of like a .223 from a T/C Contender.

Naw, just photos of some of the last guns I bought. My zombie war arsenal consists of that shotgun and SKS, though. Speaking of which, I need a bolt cover with scope rail, and an unfitted cover retainer pin, cause this one is too loose to hold a zero.

Yah, I heard it's quite a handcannon. :chew:

Yeah, the video keeps fucking up as soon as I upload it to YouTube, you know another host?

Edit: Even Google video fucks it up when I upload, must be too high contrast or a problem with the rendering. Ah well.

video.google.com?

BTW, I think the previous owner kept the shotgun in his closet or something. It's a fairly old model, and the only rust and wear I can find is on the bolt and the feeding lip thingie. It probably saw very little use over the years. The wood polish is still shining mirror! Wow.

I hear a lot about the Russian Made SKS, tell me, is it a good investment? As I plan to build an arsenal myself in the event of zombies or if I have to face any of you Neo Nazi White Supermists.

Russian built SKS's are the nicest of all the SKS's out there. They're usually manufactured a lot nicer, not as rough looking, but they'd don't function any different or any better than other SKS's.

Okay, so between a Garand and SKS which is the better? I mean I may get both, one for me and one for the Misses.

Garands and Russian-made SKS's are both collector items. I never saw a Garand in my life, but I own Yugoslavian SKS. The gun is definitely overbuilt and a bit too heavy for the round it's using, but it's a good thing that keeps the recoil low. Ammo was plentiful at one point, back when Wolf ammo was cheap. Not today, though. Wolf isn't importing, and rumors as to why that is so range from Venezuelan to Iraqi army contracts. Either that, or KGB Vladimir is putting in the squeeze on munitions export. Regardless, I can no longer recommend SKS until situation improves.

And Garand ammo costs as much as .308
Honestly, I would've recommended Tokarev SVT battle rifle, what with cheap and plentiful and powerful ammo, but that gun is collectors item too...
