What is Bruce Willis-style post-apocalyptic? He was only in Armageddon and 12 monkeys that were post-apocalyptic. Armageddon is more like disaster-style post-apocalyptic...

Sorry..I meant in contrast to post apocalypstic style. Armageddon wasn't really PA in style, it was more of Impending Disaster style i guess you could say.

Then, for the sake of his species survival, he must breed with the cockroaches and children's entertainers ! Get the duct tape and the pornographic magazines ! Seriously though, I suspect you are correct. Few authors kill off their protagonists, or enjoy it (with the occasional author loathed, reader adored irritant exception).
