And posting a link to a pretentious over priced bottle of plonk doesn't I suppose?

I've got nothing against ordinary wine drinkers who drink wine as if it was water, but people who pay ridiculous amounts for basically a bottle of fermented grape juice and then go on about being aged in oak barrels etc, well there's an expression that just sums them up nicely 'they saw you coming' .

Its only 15 dollars. How is that overpriced?
A name brand case of beer will cost you over 30 easy, possibly more. Jager and other bottled alcohol costs you in the range of 30-40, more or less.

It sure is. Maybe if they are lucky they can get some 4%. Americans aren't allowed to have alcoholic beer because they get excited and cause mischief.

Virtually all American beer is 4%. That's why the circles I hang out in tend to drink ice or imports.

Mandy, better wines cost more. A lot more than 15 dollars. It depends what you're looking for.

Of course. Everything comes in a price grade.
My uncle drinks 500 dollar bottles while spending over 100 a plate at restaurants.
Its all the same piss, just from different areas of the globe.

How is 15 $ CDN in any way overpriced? You can buy a decent bottle of wine for around 12 $. I even posted a link to the Astica which is 8 $. Sure, I've seen bottles worth 5000$, but it's not like I can afford them.

Hell, Paris was packed with decent bottles for like 3 euros.

The image you have of wine drinkers is really coming straight from the 50s or something. Or you really are a poor fuck.

Another reason beer is so popular is that its so mobile, you can walk around with a can or a bottle. And they come in 8-packs.... how can that be bad?

It's overpriced because it's twice the price of an average bottle converting to British Pounds. Sure by paying more you get a better product (I sure hope so) but the difference between a £7 bottle and a £3 bottle is miniscule. Even a £30 or £1000 bottle is still just basically immature vingear not yet fit to put on your chips. smile

And my view of wine drinkers comes from living, working and socialising with them.

That isn't the conversion for Canadian money. Its higher than the conversion for the American dollar.

On line currency converters show 15 Canadian dollars as 6.77 British Pounds so I wasn't that far out.

What's that got to do with anything, a bottle could cost a £1 and would still be overpriced if it was only worth a penny.

I don't know where Arjuna is but you can get beer in packs of 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 24 in the UK.
