How come fallout fans don't enjoy the rot-gut? |
Its because most people see beer as the be all, end all in drinking.
Beer is a leisure drink when other people are drinking it at some place in a bar where you can't afford anything else.
The stuff tastes like shit and everyone knows but won't admit it.
Plus, it has a terrible amount of alcoholic content. Highest beer i've seen was 10% and it tasted like absolute shit, while the 5% Canadian beers are easily the most drinkable. Americans get this weak assed 2-3% stuff and think they developed drinking. |

My country has alot of decent cheap wines, so I mostly drink wine tho I always love a good cold beer. But mfg is right beer does taste like shit, usually you have to drink quite a few times before starting to like it, and most people only drink it cold. |

thats true... but cold beer really goes down well on a hot day. And the matter of aquiring taste applies to drinks like wine, rum, whiskey (totally awful shit but every here in Scotland wants a wee dram, whatever that is). |

Beer is an acquired taste, it is stupid to out and out say it's awful.
Mandy: I'd heard American beers are usually 2-3%, surely this cannot be true?
Arjuna: A wee Dram is a reference to Drambuie, it's just a brand of whiskey. |

When I drink beer I usually have either Hahn Premium, Victoria Bitter or if I got the cash to spare I may indulge in an imported beer like Guinness, Heineken or Löwenbrau.

BTW Arjuna I've just remembered 1/16th of an ounce is called a dram in the old imperial measuring system, so a dram is also a measure of whiskey. |

thanks.
Isn't it the popular perception that drinking beer makes you working class and wine makes you a snob? |

Most wine drinkers are yuppies, and some are snobs. Mostly the yuppie part, though. |

Heh I dunno about Canada, England or Israel but in latin countries all social classes drinks wine, it doesn't belong to a specific class, beer on the other hand is more of a youth drink or a summer drink. Aquiring taste applies to wine too, but it's takes less time to start enjoying it. |

It sure is. Maybe if they are lucky they can get some 4%. Americans aren't allowed to have alcoholic beer because they get excited and cause mischief. |
