Troika's PA game screenshots

Post by Ausir »

<strong>[Game -> Update]</strong>

<a target=_blank href=http://www.nma=fallout.com>NMA</a> has just released 2 exclusive screenshots (<a target=_blank href=http://www.nma-fallout.com/images/games ... b.jpg>1</a> & <a target=_blank href=http://www.nma-fallout.com/images/games ... b.jpg>2</a>) from <a target=_blank href=http://www.troikagames.com>Troika</a>'s post-apocalyptic cRPG. Some art for the game by Chris Glenn was <a href=http://www.rpgcodex.com/phpBB/viewtopic ... 1>released in september</a>, but we weren't sure if it actually was for a Troika game. Currently the game which might have been made into Fallout 3 if Bethseda didn't buy the license is on hold.
<br>
<br>Looks like they made just as much of the game as the Van Buren team did...
<br>
<br><b>EDIT by <i>Saint_Proverbius</i>:</b>
<br>
<br>For those keeping score on the assets of the two bidders for <b>Fallout 3</b>:
<br>
<br><A href="http://www.bethsoft.com">Bethesda</a> <b>had</b>: <i>More money up front, no team, no design, etc.</i>
<br>
<br><A href="http://www.troikagames.com">Troika</a> <b>had</b>: <i><a href="/content.php?id=7">a design for FO3</a>, an <A href="http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/album_ ... >engine</a> with some art content, many of the developers from <A href="http://www.interplay.com/fallout">Fallout</a>, etc.</i>
<br>
<br>Anyone want to take bets on whether <A href="Http://www.interplay.com">Interplay</a> lasts long enough to recieve any royalties from <A href="Http://www.bethsoft.com">Bethesda</a>'s <b>Fallout 3</b>?

I just want to know if there's any way we can get Troika to take the project off hold. I imagine it's to do with money. I'd be willing to donate, unrealistic it may be.

God damn the world. Why is Troika's postapoc on hold? And why is that man holding a halberd? Regardless, I did not realize Troika was even in the runnings for the Fallout license. Does anyone know who all the competetors were, or god forbid, have a man on the inside to find out what Fallout is worth these days?
off topic? OMG YOU'VE BEEN CENSORED... yet you're still posting. MYSTARY!!!!

If Bethsoft don't have a clue what to do, there's still time to let Troika develop it. Please. Please.

for me these screens look AWEsome. How would I love Troika to do F3, let me count the ways...
And why is that man holding a halberd?
dunno, but maybe this has something to do with it: http://www.cglenn.com/images/2d/rw_b.jpg :chick:

This is reason #1 to change the direction of this site to be a fan site for the new Troika game assuming they are still going forward? I support them 100% whereas Bethesda may get only about 33% of my support.

Those screenshots look like they were taken in a digital Mogadishu. While, I guess most of the urban maps in Tactics looked like that, too.

If I'm not mistaken, hasn't Bethesda already bought the FO3 license? If they have the rights to the game already, there's no hope for Troika's baby to be the next Fallout game.

Yes but Fallout as a license is basically dead unless Bethesda can pull the magic deathclaw out of its ass. I am betting on Troika putting together a better PA game than Fallout was. You don't need the Fallout name to create a great PA game, you need Timmy Cain!

Leon Boyarsy as well, but he's a founder of Troika too.

Couldn't Bethesda get FO3 developped by an external house and then publish it? Like Troika?

By the way, looking at those concept sketches and screenshots, this game has a freaking awesome look. Catches your eye the same way FO in-game and the FO skecthes did.

I see. So if Troika's game is better, it becomes the defacto Fallout 3.

Starting a Paypal campaign to fund Troika is foolish optimism. Expecting Bethesda to hand the project to Troika is foolish optimism. Expecting the tooth fairy to fly into your bedroom and crap a copy of Fallout 3 onto your face is... well, awesome, but also a tad unrealistic.

The same applies to Obsidian, anything and everything related to Van Buren and (god forbid) Bioware.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

I wouldn't worry so much about Bethesda developing Fo3 if I were you guys. Morrowind was well done and its worth giving them a shot to do something besides the Elder Scrolls series. And if they fail, we have this lovely PA game being made by our dream team at Troika.

So, by "the game is on hold" it is meant that they were developing it in hope of making it FO3 but now since Bethesda stole it they've stopped?

Or they're just waiting and are going to finish it later?

Because I <3 those screenies and I want more D:

I'm usually very critical when it comes to screenies of in-development games, but there's nothing to criticize here..This looks to be a top-knotch engine. I have a feeling the game will be developed...Possibly a contender against the Bethesda FO3...And probably the winner.

@Halberd: Mybe their pst-apocalyptic world don't have shootas lying on the street?

I'm remembered of The Postman, you know...

Also, it is 3D with rotating camera.

Isn't there like a "Hit him in the face" button somewhere on my keyboard? I suppose you could say "Morrowind" was well done in the idea that it was complete, I wouldn't say it was "Well Done" in that it was fun for most all people. You also have to think that Bestheda caved in to Bill Money and made the game for X-Box causing it to be dumbed down. I think we've had enough of the "Bestheda sucks" argument though.

After playing ToEE - I'd much rather have Troika develop it. And thats without even remembering that Troika is mostly made up of people who WORKED on FO and FO2.
