Wanted Dead or Alive(Tiles)

Post by Flamescreen »

I've been thinking with FOTTE on its way(finally! :) ),there are a lot of tiles missing from the game or others that should be changed or added for variety purposes. So, essentially this thread is a tile wish/todo list.

My main problem with the tiles:
Not enough wooden ones.Too many cement/concrete/rock(each could pass for the other) and metal based ones but just a handfull of wood. Very high in my todo list. Also the water tiles. Major need for a color upgrade(the extant ones look mostly like mud). I can't remember thi one, but I think they used the mud/water ones for goo also, so we need some of these too(pref. with bubbles). Finally and this falls under the water category again, I was thinking of creating tiles for a brook/waterfall. Probably quite difficult, but it worths a try...

Do any of you have similar thoughts?

There is a need for partial floor/roof tiles. Also, there is a definite need for a variety of angled wall/roof tiles so we can make more different building types. Plus tiles from Fallout can be brought into the game so we can make a recreation of the cathedral or other buildings.

I'm with Flamscreen and the more wooden tiles and blue water tiles.

I'd also like to see floor/roof tiles that are smaller than the standard 6x6.

Tile versions of dead actors would be kinda neat...

Mistake up there, there are goo tiles, animated too!(makes you wonder, if Red gives the ability for animations to the tile Editor, we will be able to do some pretty nifty stuff...). And some Vault tiles created for a possible V15(there are some limitations with the existing ones)

This should be fairly easy using Photoshop and simply altering the color/hue of the tiles to make those blue tiles brown - which is a lot better than making those brown eyes blue, I suppose. (Yes, I know. That was really bad...)

This reminds me that Joshua said that he had accomplished a burnt out vault look using standard tiles and lighting. I need to email him about that...

O.k., how about a bouncing ball then? Hmm, how should I name the company that's manufacturing them?
OnTheBall? Hmm, no.
OverTheBall? Mmm, no doesn't sound right...
OnlyTribalBasket? No, totally irrelevant...

(don't worry OTB, only a childish joke :D )

Actually, for names, "RobCo", the Original maker of the PipBoy and StealthBoy is a company that was "dilluted" in presence throughout Fallout games... Just something I noticed reading the FO2 manual again...

Well, actually that is sorta an inside joke, Red. I've send pmails to all map rats quite some time agoto ask them if I could use their nicknames as material for characters, companies, etc on campaigns.(I'll probably start doing so in FoO). Btw, since convercation brought it up, how would you like that? With FOTTE you'll contribute to the comunity as much as anyone of us...

I know it was a joke... However it just reminded me how RobCo just dissapeared from Fallout throughoput the franchise. As for using my nickname, sure, I don't mind...

If someone is "on the bounce" it means that they are "on the ball".
