Apocalypse Radio

Post by Bridgeburner »

i want to expand my library of apocalypse songs because it's kinda small now. i'm looking for songs that praise, worship, predict, loathe or just describe the coming apocalypse. few examples:

Dave Matthews Band - When the world ends
R.E.M. - The end of the world as we know it
Muse - Apocalypse please

if you got something please don't hesitate to share. all suggestions are welcome.

Get the "Until The End of the World" soundtrack. Plenty of stuff there to fill your shorts. Otherwise I've always found the goth-industrial genre as having an angst-y end of the world quality to it. Bauhaus seems proper and maybe some Bowie/Eno collaborations like Low and side 2 of Heroes. (ummm, yeah that's vinyl-speak!).

Planet P. Project: What I See & Behind the Barrier off of the album Pink World. It's an 80's concept album about the *end* of the world in a nuclear war & an unlikely saviour.

While I was surfing about I found this site on 80's nuclear war songs. Looks like it has a wide selection of music from good to downright & utter crap. Hope it helps.

Edit: Thanks Brios, must not have had enough coffee this morn.

99 Luft Balloons by Nina is a song about the end of the world interestingly enough. I'm pretty sure alot of people didn't catch that in the 80's.

Front Line Assembly have a lot of songs that deal with post apoc matters
The Millenium album is about the destuction of humanity via the use of technology and its own weakness
My fave album by them and of one my fave albums of all time too!
Check out the filmclip for the title track here, lyrics are here
Surface Patterns reminds me of Fallout, a lot
Also there was a single released after Millenium, Circuitry and it makes The Terminator look like a fairy tale, or something

"The Fall" by Ministry
"Demanufacture", "Remanufacture" and "Digimortal" albums by Fear Factory are post apoc related

Tool - Ænema.

Good song about how stupid people are as a whole, and apocolypse swallowing them all up in flooding.

There's a three CD set by some California/Deutsch band called Saviour Machine. A lot of lyric antics about Israel, Islam, and you!

I think I speak for all Dr. Strangelove fans. You gotta go with Inkspots' We'll Meet Again. Sung by good old Vera Lynn.
