I've been following the news as it's leaked out, and so far it DOES look as if New Vegas is a deeper animal then Fo3. Same engine and it's shortcomings, but at least a more recognisable core.

Fo3 and FOO are two different animals with no immediate relation. Though they are both based in the universe created in fallouts 1 and 2, they are not inter-related. Both have a different story of what happened after. In other words. Both can suck in distinct and horrible ways....not that I'm pessim...

He's become a bit of a pop scientist, has a show on the science channel about the pluasability of science fiction tropes, such as lightsabers, invisibility and faster then light travel.

Snark aside, it looks like they're taking what they have to work with and doing their best with it. I'm not sure if it'll be up to par, but I think we can assume it'll be closer then 3 was...then again you know what they say about assuming.That's right, it makes an ass out of You and Ming. Fuck Ming.

I thought it was about explosions and Alien motherships.

As a personal aside, the descriptions and general work that has gone into these companions give me some hope for a much more pleasing Fallout experience this time around.

I still reserve the right to call it Fallout in name only if it turns out they raped it anyway.
