Plasma rifle does more damage but is shorter ranged than the laser rifle. The pulse rifle is the most devastating but is the shortest ranged and there are less of them than the plasma rifles. You would probably prefer for your sniper to use the laser rifle to disable the robots while switching to pl...

If you got to the robot levels then you have passed the Reaver levels. You should have enough energy weapons and microfusion cells (there are a ton of them in the game) to take care of them. If not use the rocket launcher (as long as you have a big guns guy that can fire from afar) or M2 browning, b...

Don't be afraid to use drugs every now and then (not for tough guy mode though since you can't save and reload if addiction occurs). Voodoo is pretty nice and the stat downturn doesn't take too long to recover from.

I reserved the EMP shells for the behemoths. Had Rage do burst fire for over 200 plus damage per successful attack. First off though have my heavy weapons guy use explosive rockets (if possible doped up with psycho or voodoo in advanced power armor) get their attention. Those minigun robots are pret...

Thanks for the reply OTB. I was just wondering about it and wanted to be sure it wasn't just my game. I rarely use the targetted shots feature of the shotguns anyway.

I use the purple slug ones (bonus to penetration) against robots mostly. Haven't had the need to use the EMP yet. Still have all 240 shells collected. BTW, anybody else notice the Thompson SMG bug? I equipped it on a character with fast shot and bonus rate of fire, it cost 3 AP to burst. But guess h...

Well of course I know it is a shotgun. It is just that I prefer to target the robot sensors to increase chances of a critical against them. The CAWS and Neostead have the option to target with. Why not the Pancor? Nice burst damage though.

Pancor Jackhammer, Can't target?

Umm, is there a reason why one cannot make targetted shots with the Pancor. The Neostead and CAWS can be targetted except this one.

Is it because the game designers felt it was powerful enough as it is? I was a bit surprised at that and made sure the character wielding it doesn't have fast shot.

It is a fun enough game. So many options and you really ought to try CTB. You really have to implement guerilla style hit and run attacks and ambushes to survive a lot of the battles. Just don't think of the game as being canon Fallout and you should be fine. It is kind of funny though how the plasm...

It's okay. Took out the base anyway by sneaking snipers and shotgun wielders thru the hidden gully on the north east side of the base (after sniping the guards that oversee that area. Those muties never knew what hit them.

I think they are right. I didn't have any problems with the exit grid though as OTB said, it only lit up once the APC was very near. Had a great time clearing out the trenches with shotguns, grenades and APC. Only had to repair it once or twice. The Browning equipped muties were tough though. Had to...

Went with gifted. Babs perception is now 9. Her skill rate also didn't suffer too badly.

Wish they included combat armor in the game.

So I guess it is not worth it to choose Fear the Reaper for Babs. Guess will go for Gifted.

Fear the Reaper trait for ghouls?

Pardon my ignorance but I was toying with the idea of mutating Babs the ghoul recruit. In particular, I want to replace her tech wizard trait. I am not sure if I want to replace it with gifted (this would boost her perception by 2 to 9 and her high intelligence helps ensure that skills wouldn't suff...
