1k for a shotgun? Gawd, you can get a mossberg or remington shotty for much, much cheaper. And shotguns, they're pretty much a done tech. Though that shotun is pretty sexy.

How useful is this skill? I never put any points into it, and I seem to do just fine. Does it only affect the chance to have random encounters? Is there really any reason to build it up?
