Re: A Fallout fan's Fallout: New Vegas review

Players using melee have a variety of counters and take-downs and special hits they can perform, though the downside is quite a few, like an uppercut move, are simply chosen randomly by the computer while in VATS mode. Actually, you don't get the special attacks for Melee or Unarmed until skill lev...

If gamebyro can't do ladders, I doubt it can do someone hanging from a noose, hence the change from "The Hanged Man" to "The Burned Man".

Still, the bartender at Sloan gave me a heck of a laugh If you want a good belly laugh, go to Westside (west of Vegas proper) and talk to the hispanic hotel owner parked in the chair outside the main entrance. I about pissed myself. Also "Mean Sonofabitch" (another Westside local) is pret...

You can get that guy out of the NCR Corrections facility. You have to clear it with the NCR in Primm, who might send you somewhere else for further verification, but he's worth the trouble.

Alright, I'm going into the Mother Deathclaw (and Alpha Male) breeding grounds with a 1 Endurance Melee/Unarmed character. I'm level 22 and this still scares the Holy Guacamole out of me. Update: Just spotted the mother, roughly three times the size of a standard deathclaw, jet black, long backwards...

I wanted to do the Legion route, but switched to "Wild Card" just to see how horribly bad it would turn out. So far I've had at least one "Oh God, what have I done?" moment. Anxiously waiting to see how this all plays out...

Gonna go ahead and call bullshit on everyone who claims New Vegas is "less bleak" than Fallout 3. The visuals are brighter, but the themes as well as the ruthlessness with which they are executed are far, far darker in tone.

I like that the quest for the Boomers, Volare!, is essentially the Liberty Prime quest only it makes sense and has real consequences. This fucking game, man.

Well fuck, ran into my first game halting glitch. Whenever I return to a quest-giver early in the Caesar's Legion questline, the game crashes. Good thing I waited this long to start that storyline, aye? Ah well, I can skip straight to an audience with Caesar, but I am curious what all the in between...

At the risk of sounding like a colossal philistine, I'm gonna throw this out there: Ranger Combat Armor combined with the Ballistic Fist is perhaps the coolest looking weapon/armor combo in the game.

Semantics, really. I would just say it is more competent in general, shooting included.

Yeah, you're pretty much fucking yourself if you don't front load your character with a shit-ton of points in Speech. Science also has a surprising amount of applications and Lockpick finally feels useful.

Fuck it, buy it anyway. DLC is kinda retarded anyway, it isn't a part of the main story otherwise it would have been in the original game. Play the game as it was intended, THEN fiddle about with wanky, game breaking DLC.

So, just to clarify you're not all being Obsidion Fanboi fgts and this is actually a good game worthy of my paper money? It takes paper money to find out. Also, I think it we're all certified cynical cunts, we'd have been run off by now if that weren't the case. To further the question, is it worth...

im only just to freeside.. havent done a lot of venturing off of the MQ path just yet.. It is difficult to deviate because the Main Quest is actually good this go round. You can get Euclid's C-Finder in Freeside off of a kid for 1k. Not bad if you you're an energy specialist. I highly recommend you...

Ran into Marcus earlier, just now met up with the Brotherhood. Real fucking pricks, the Brotherhood. Also I've been really surprised by how many clean resolutions I've been screwed out of for not properly investing in Speech.
