Half Life 2 mod

<strong>[Game -> Mod News (DO NOT USE - use MOD > UPDATE instead)]</strong> There's a new modification for <a href="http://half-life.com/">Half Life 2</a> being developed, called <a href="http://www.wotamod.com/">Warriors Of The Apocalypse</a>. Looks kind of interesting, though i...

Bethesda's unofficial official Fallout 3 chat room

<strong>[Community -> Update]</strong> <b>Briosafreak</b> informed me of an <a href="irc://chatspike.net/fallout3">IRC channel</a> for <b>Fallout 3</b> on the <a href="http://www.chatspike.net/">ChatSpike</a> server - the same server that hosts <a href="irc://chatspike.net/m...

Rosh goes overboard way too often. He's good when he's fighting on your side, simply because there's no way to counter him other than disect his posts word by word (As that's what he does to everyone else). and few people have the time or energy to do that.

New domain name

<strong>[Community -> Update]</strong> Duck And Cover needed a new domain name, since <b>Killzig</b> is the current owner of thevats.net. <b>Killzig</b>? Who's that? <br> <br>And so the DAC staff discussed possible alternatives. After much thought, <b>Jimmyjay86</b> came up with a suitable domain na...

The front cover looks like someone got way overexcited in photoshop. "Hmm. How can we make a nuclear explosion more exciting? I know, let's make it a nuclear explosion.... BUT IN SPACE!"

Classic sound samples

http://www.slonet.org/~rloomis/acafe.html

WAV files from actual government transmissions in the 40s and 50s. Very funny, I wasn't sure whether to make a news post of it or not, but it's worth listening to them.

Didn't he mean evolving, in terms of learning? Like that zombie in Day of the Dead, who remembered how to use a gun, and showed some aspects of humanity (wailing when he saw his human scientist friend was dead). I thought this was actually very compelling to watch.

ARG that text colour you're using is impossible to read. As for Pete Hines, can you send me the emails in a PM or something? I'd like to put that as news if you're OK with that. I didn't get much from him when I emailed him, just 'its going to be a while before we can say anything'. And I think it's...

What I thought is that we keep FO as the focus and post all the things like dev posts, and so on, as usual. But if we find a new PA movie, a good book series, or whatever, we can post about that too. It's like having Fallout as the centre, but with all these branches going off it, including movies, ...

Most of the people are on both forums anyway. Far as I can tell, that's pretty much the opposite of the truth. NMA has a lot more people, but generally it's decided that we don't get along. It's an oft-occuring statement of NMA inferiority 'round these parts. There are definately people on DAC that...

True, though if they want to keep the classic FO viewpoint, a similar interface, and so on, I can't see it working on a console (thankfully).

They might make different games in the same universe for each platform. Though that wouldn't be much better, Fallout should be be kept away from consoles.

Zombies take over the world

<strong>[ -> Preview]</strong> In keeping with DAC's policy to post more on post-apocalyptic movies and other media, I thought I'd mention <b>George Romero</b> is making a fourth, and final, zombie film called <a href="http://www.freezedriedmovies.com/film.php?id=178">Land Of The Dead</a>....

I don't think there are any PA movies in production at the moment. I've been looking for stuff like that to cover on DAC but there's very little about. Even books, I can't find much PA stuff. Well, there's 28 Weeks Later, the working title for the sequal to 28 days later. That's true. I don't reall...

Don't mention Mad Max, I am so dissapointed since I heard that there would be no fourth movie.... It'd probably have sucked anyways, but thinking of how good it might have been made me happy.
