Fallout Tactics developer profile: Alistair Phillips [ N/A -> Interview ]
Interview posted by 95 Fri 30 Jul 2004, 12:45 AM
Our interview with Alistair Phillips about mostly unimportant stuff. If you could make any game you wanted, what'd it be?

It would be something like a mix between Metal Gear Solid and Tekken. It would have a good story driven plot, and have plenty of action, but it would require thinking to get by. You would need to be able to use your fire power when necessary but also be forced to use hand to hand when required ie a non-lethal take down or conserving ammo or to avoid detection.

What are a few of your favourite games?

GP 500, UT, Fallout, Half-Life, Commandos, Abe's Oddysee, Dungeon Keeper, The Lost Vikings, Metal Gear Solid, Tenchu, Crash Bandicoot, Prince of Persia.

I think they will run amok, killing countless numbers of innocent civilians, until they finally turn on themselves.

Get more like films where there are still some good titles done independantly but the bulk are big budget things driven by the tastes of the mass market as perceieved by a few studio bosses.

I prefer vintage Lucasarts stuff like Dark Forces, Jedi Knight and TIE Fighter, although I do like Half Life as well. On the Network, I like Tribes, UT, Counter Strike and Quake. I also love mid-to-late 80's coin-ops like Midnight Resistance, Strider, Rolling Thunder and Ghouls & Ghosts.
