I asked Pete Hines if Bethesda had any comment on the recent court case decision which resulted in a loss for Bethesda. This is what he had to say:
This is a legal proceeding and we don’t comment publicly on the specifics of the dispute. The court has declined to decide the issues at a preliminary hearing, and determined that the parties should maintain the current status quo pending a trial of the case in 2010. We are confident that we will prevail on our claims against Interplay.
Although it was a major victory for Interplay, Bethesda wasn't really hurt by the court decision. If Bethesda has plans for a Fallout MMO, then this obviously means a bit more for them for the time being. As Pete indicates, this is still the "preliminary" proceedings, and there is still much in store for both parties. |
