A preview of GameInformer's september cover reveals its main feature — Borderlands, Gearbox Software's new project, a sci-fi FPS/RPG four-person coop being developed for the PC, xbox360 and ps3. A game that 2K, the publisher for Borderlands, president Christoph Hartmann claims will be "an important evolutionary leap in game design and technology". From Gameindustry.biz: "Borderlands represents an important evolutionary leap in game design
and technology," said 2K president Christoph Hartmann. "By utilizing
revolutionary new technology to create thousands of unique, randomly
generated missions, weapons and situations, Borderlands will raise the
bar for next gen action games."

Software announced Rage, Brothers in Arms developer Gearbox Software
has revealed Borderlands, which a Game Informer cover story describes
as "Diablo meets Mad Max." /.../ A science fiction RPG/FPS hybrid, with support for up to four cooperative
players online. Vehicles are likely to be significantly involved.
