That's where Bethesda dropped the ball. Fallout wasn't just a setting, it had a tight rules system too. Just like D&D isn't just a setting. Bethesda doesn't like the restrictions that real RPG systems impose on their ADD addled target audience - Cimmerian

It's not directly to do with Fallout, but there's hardly anything Fallout related these days. Josh Sawyer, lead designer on the DEAD game Van Buren, has moved to Obsidian.

Friday is actually my last day at Midway.
So is gaunlet done then Sawyer? Nope.
I am going to work for Obsidian, starting Monday.
Can you tell us what you'll be working on, or is it a MYSTARY (sry, couldn't resist)?
Neverwinter Nights 2.

It seems anyone connected to Fallout ends up working on Bioware sequels.
