Chris Avellone has been interviewed at a site called Gamer Girl.
Unfortunately I can't see many signs of GIRL POWAH in the interview
questions, despite the site's name being really dumb, so here's the
Fallout question they asked:
Q: How's Feargus? Will his being CEO of Obsidian lead to characters
named Feargus in the company's games, as was the case in Fallout 2?
Ferg’s too busy getting his wife pregnant and then raising his (now 2)
kids to be his usual grumpy self, but I guess he’s okay. He really
hasn’t changed much, temperament-wise, since I’ve known him. He still
beats us with sticks. He is getting a little older, so we have to take
him for walks around the office and help him get to the bathroom. He
also can’t wipe himself anymore, so we have to hire interns to take
care of that for him.
I doubt there will be more Fearguses in future games. Plus, it
breaks that whole 4th wall thing, which we’d already tapped out with
Fallout 2. However, I will say we are fast on our way to using another
name in all our Obsidian games, but we’ll have to wait and see how it
pans out for the third project.
To be honest, I'm disappointed. I was hoping they'd ask a retarded
question about the role of breasts in roleplaying or their hopes to be
able to buy mascara in Fallout 3.
