New STALKER Interview
New STALKER Interview [ Game -> Interview ]

More info on Game: S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadows of Chernobyl
Oblivion Lost has posted a new STALKER interview.  This one is with Anton Bolshakov, who I guess works on the game.  He talks mainly about an open beta test, and Directx9 outdoor areas.
cpcat: Well, another question - how soon will you publish new outdoor DX9 screens?

{GSC}Anton: We are preparing an advertising campaign, which will begin about half a year before the game's release. It will be built upon an array of sweets that we have not shown yet, and the game itself of course! It will be possible to see the DX9 version at GDC, RGD, E3 - for visitors only. Screens for the general public will appear during the advertising campaign.

cpcat: Can you clear up a few things about the public beta test? What, when, where, and how to sign up? This is asked unbelievably often.

{GSC}Anton: This is THQ's decision - to be or not to be, when and how, since this is too large a project for us. THQ has not told us anything about such plans yet.

cpcat: So it is not even being planned?

{GSC}Anton: The decision of carrying out beta testing of the game is to be made by THQ. We are not capable of organizing work with thousands of testers. THQ has not told us yet that there will be public beta testing. If it does, we will prepare. There was talk about online beta testing - this stage will come, but again, THQ did not set a date or the feature set for that version.
From this interview, it sounds like this game is not going to be released for a looooong time.  You can read the whole thing here.
