Auto Assault previewed

Auto Assault previewed [ Game -> Preview ]

Someone called Brian D. Crecente from RockyMountainNews went to visit the offices of NetDevil, developers of the post-apocalyptic MMORPG Auto Assault (win a joystick!) and wrote up his impressions. It's got some pretty meaningless hype:
Creators of 'Auto Assault' revving up for debut of revolutionary online game

...

The group of programmers, artists and game designers at NetDevil are creating the next big thing in massively multiplayer online gaming: A virtual world that operates on the same principles as the real one.
The preview then goes on to talk about some other standard preview stuff. It seems the big thing in this game is the destructable scenery:

Fences snap in half when you hit them, but mow into a large building and the windows blow out. Hit it again and dust falls off. Ram it a third time and chunks of the structure start to fall.

Each item in the game has 15 to 20 pieces that can break off, Grundy said. Multiply that by the game's thousands of different objects and you get a sense of why destruction was such a challenge.

The best bit of the preview is a picture, though:

Caption competition?

Update: you can also read about the infantry in the game on the official site.
